How is a student’s eligibility determined?
To qualify for Promise Zone financial assistance
a student must:
• Graduate and receive a diploma or General
Equivalency Diploma (GED) from one of the eligible
• Meet specified residency requirements
• Gain admission to a public or private post-secondary
educational institution accredited by the North Central
Association of Colleges and Schools
• Complete the Free Federal Student Aid form (FAFSA) and
demonstrate that they have exhausted all other grants for
tuition and fees available through federal, state and local
governments, including the Federal Pell Grant Program.
