Step 3: Gather Supporting Documents
Before you begin your New Scholar Part 2 Application with Pontiac Promise Zone, you first need to fill out the following information, and have the documents available to you: Screen Shots are not acceptable!
- FAFSA Application, including Confirmation or Pending letter. To get started, please go to www.fafsa.gov and complete the form. Once you have your confirmation letter or a pending confirmation from your FAFSA, you can continue. If you are a DACA student, you do not have to submit an online FAFSA form. You can complete a paper form and mail it to the Pontiac Promise Zone or submit a wet signature PPZ-FAFSA waiver if you do not identify as DACA.
- TIP (Tuition Incentive Program) letter. If you are a Tuition Incentive Program recipient, please gather your confirmation documents for that program first. For more information on TIP, please visit their website here.
- High School Transcript. This transcript must be YOUR transcript. To access your transcript, please contact your school counselor or follow your school’s instructions for accessing it.
- Proof of Acceptance. You will need to provide your acceptance letter from an accredited Michigan university/college, trade, technical school, certificate or apprenticeship program. This requires you to apply and gain admission to one of these organizations before you begin filling out your application.
- First Semester Tuition Bill. You need to download your first semester tuition bill from your educational institution. If you are attending a trade/certificate program an Invoice should be uploaded. Please be sure all additional financial awards are clearly shown on the bill.
- Class Schedule. You will need to provide the first semester class schedule before we can consider you for financial assistance.
